Vol. 367 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

41.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment when a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

A further instalment of the subsidy will be paid in this case when the appropriate claim form is submitted to the Department, duly certified by the lending agency.

42.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange an inspection by appointment in respect of a new house grant application for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare.

The file in the case is being referred to my Department's inspector for inspection by appointment.

43.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a final instalment of a new house grant of £1,000 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

In the case of a house built otherwise than by contract a new house grant of £2,000 is payable only where the house was not substantially completed by 1 May 1985. In this case, the Department's inspector has certified that the lower rate of grant of £1,000 was appropriate and payment was made accordingly on 7 November 1985. Documentation subsequently submitted by the applicant in support of his claim for the higher rate of grant did not warrant any change in the amount of the grant already paid.
