Vol. 367 No. 9

Written Answers. - Speed of Articulated Trucks.

75.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the growing concern with regard to the speed of articulated trucks; if he will take whatever action is necessary to ensure the law is observed in this area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that they receive occasional complaints of alleged breaches of the speed limits by articulated trucks but I have no indication that there is any widespread increase in public concern about the speed of such trucks. I suggest to the Deputy that if he is aware of any area where speed limits are not being observed, he should bring the matter to the attention of the local Garda.
