Under the Housing Regulations, 1980, the new house grant of £1,000 cannot be paid where the foundations of a house were completed before 26 May 1977. As the house was commenced in November 1976 the £1,000 grant cannot be allowed. Neither can a grant be paid under the previous scheme as the house had not been completed on or before 31 December 1978 as required by the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will receive a further inspection and payment of his house improvement grant, as all details have been sent to his Department since January 1986.
An inspection will be carried out within a few weeks with a view to payment of the grant.

On receipt of notification of completion of works, an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of the grant.

The subsidy will be paid within the next few weeks.

Payment of a new house grant and mortgage subsidy cannot be made until an inspection establishes that the house is completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been fulfilled. My Department was notified recently that the house was ready for inspection. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.
