Vol. 368 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tax Refunds.

110.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange for a full refund of taxes due to an unemployed person and his unemployed wife (details supplied) in Dublin 8 to be made since they are in need of the money at this time.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes has written to the taxpayer and his wife for the information necessary to enable their tax affairs to be brought up to date. Reviews of their income tax liabilities for 1985-86 will be carried out on receipt of the required information and any refunds found due will then be made.

111.

asked the Minister for Finance when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid a tax rebate.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that reviews of the taxpayer's liabilities for the years 1984-85 and 1985-86 have been carried out and cheques in settlement of the overpayments which emerged were issued to the taxpayer on 16 June 1986.
