Vol. 368 No. 5

Written Answers. - Government Expenditure on Paper and Stationery.

117.

asked the Minister for Finance the total expenditure on stationery, on Government publications, leaflets and pamphlets for 1985; and the total amount of paper used which was Irish made.

The total expenditure on paper and paper stationery, which includes the paper for Government Poublications, leaflets and pamphlets was £3.3 million approximately in 1985. Additional expenditure of approximatley £4 million on printing was incurred by the Stationery Office in that year.

No Irish made paper was used for Government stationery and publications in 1985 because no suitable paper was manufactured in Ireland during the period in question. The remaining information sought is not available in the categories requested. Figures relating to expenditure by semi-State bodies on publications are not available.
