Vol. 368 No. 6

Written Answers. - Salmon Fishery Laws.

56.

asked the Minister for Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry if he will amend the fishery laws in relation to salmon fishing, and if he will legalise monofilament nets.

The laws governing salmon fishing are kept under constant review and such measures as are considered necessary are taken in line with the policy of conserving salmon stocks for the future. I do not propose to legalise monofilament nets for salmon fishing for the present season.
