46.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a pre-1940 home improvement grant was not approved for a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

Such a grant could not be approved as the estimated cost of the relevant repair works did not reach the qualifying threshold of £4,000 specified in the scheme.

47.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny where the inspection has been carried out.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been fulfilled. A recent inspection revealed that the house was not completed or occupied. A further inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks.
