Vol. 368 No. 10

Written Answers. - Cork Hospital.

97.

asked the Minister for health when it is proposed to make the necessary moneys available to the Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in Cork to purchase an eye laser machine.

The Cork Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital is due to close this year. This is in line with my Department's policy that specialist services should be provided from a general hospital campus. A project team, representative of my Department, the Southern Health Board and the hospital has been established to plan all of the facilities, including equipment, necessary to transfer ophthalmology services to Cork Regional Hospital.
