Vol. 369 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Sligo Arterial Drainage.

274.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will list the rivers where moneys will be spent under the allocation for arterial drainage for 1987; when work will begin on the Arrow-Owenmore rivers in Sligo; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

While the allocations for arterial drainage in 1987 have not been finally decided on, moneys will, of course, be provided for continuation of existing schemes under construction and for maintenance of completed schemes.

The Government decided in August 1986, that the design of a drainage scheme for the Arrow-Owenmore catchment should be recommenced. At this stage, however, I cannot say when a scheme for the catchment might be undertaken.
