There is no EC mechanism for giving financial assistance for either cut-away bogs or bog development.
There are, however, proposals under consideration for use of part of the regional fund for exploiting indigenous energy potential in certain regions, including Ireland. I envisage that bog development by Bord na Móna would qualify for assistance under the proposed regulation.
