asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if County Donegal has been designated a priority area by the IDA.
Written Answers. - County Donegal Designated Area.

Limerick East): County Donegal is a designated area for the purposes of the Industrial Development Act, 1986, and as such qualifies for higher grant levels than those available in non-designated areas. I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that the county constitutes a separate region for industrial development purposes and has its own regional office in Letterkenny. In 1985, 35 small industry projects were approved with a potential of 254 jobs at full production. An additional 45 jobs were approved in medium and large industry. The IDA will continue to devote a high level of attention to the county.
