Vol. 369 No. 1

Written Answers. - Mitchelstown (Cork) Water Scheme.

200.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction the necessary funds for the augmentation of the existing water scheme to Mitchelstown, County Cork and the reason for the delay as the water supply in this area is inadequate.

Contract documents for the Mitchelstown water supply augmentation scheme are under consideration in my Department. Before a decision can be made it will be necessary for Cork County Council to submit the usual certificate of completion of planning to my Department indicating that all necessary land and wayleaves have been acquired and that all legal requirements have been attended to. The question of funding the scheme will not arise until contract documents and tenders have been approved.
