Vol. 369 No. 3

Written Answers. - Free Milk Supplies.

142.

asked the Minister for Health if he will detail specifically in relation to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 the number of occasions over the last three months that a company (details supplied) failed to supply the person's quota of free milk.

The detailed information requested by the Deputy is not readily available.

The daughter of the person in question was eligible for a daily supply of milk for three months to 30 September 1986. During the three months the Eastern Health Board received four complaints from the person in question about her daughter's failure to receive supplies. Each complaint was conveyed immediately to Drogheda and Dundalk Dairies. The dairies informed the Eastern Health Board that they would investigate the complaints and in order to compensate the person for any irregularities in supply, milk would be supplied at the expense of the dairies beyond the person's entitlement period.

The person in question and her daughter were visited by an officer of the Eastern Health Board on 28 October 1986 and both reported that they are satisfied with the supply of free milk and that they have no further complaints.
