Vol. 369 No. 4

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefit.

91.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason disability benefit was terminated in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who was deemed fit for work despite the fact that she was hospitalised at the time; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Payment of disability benefit to the person concerned was disallowed from 16 September 1986 following examination by a medical referee who expressed the opinion that she was capable of work.

She has not indicated to the Department that she wishes to appeal the decision to disallow payment of benefit. Payment of disability benefit for the period from 6 October 1986 to 13 October 1986 has been issued to her as she was hospitalised for this period.
