Vol. 369 No. 4

Written Answers. - Garda Manpower.

110.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is yet in a position to increase the Garda force in the Finglas area; and, if not, the reason.

The allocation of manpower to individual stations is a matter for the Garda authorities, who review the strength assigned to the various stations in the light of their assessment of needs and having regard to overall resources.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the current strength, all ranks, at Finglas station is 64 and that this strength will be reviewed when the next group of Garda recruits becomes available for assignment in December.
