Written Answers. - Tourist Maps.

28.

asked the Minister for Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry if he is aware of the need for production of small-scale maps (1:50,000), especially for hill walking areas, in view of the tourist potential of these areas; if his Department have sought the production of an up-to-date version of a small-scale map of the Wicklow Way which is extremely popular with tourists; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Map production is the responsibility of the Ordnance Survey Office. Bord Fáilte promote and distribute both the Wicklow Way map and other small-scale ordnance survey maps which relate to walking areas. In addition, the board produce information leaflets on the Wicklow Way and on all other long distance walks.
