Vol. 369 No. 8

Written Answers. - Bantry (Cork) Hospital.

139.

asked the Minister for Health, the plans, if any, he has to appoint a paediatrician to Bantry County Hospital, County Cork.

This is a matter for the Southern Health Board in the first instance. If the Southern Health Board require a paediatrician for Bantry County Hospital they would have to obtain the approval of Comhairle na nOspidéal. Under existing procedures my Department would be asked by the Southern Health Board for observations on the financial implications of funding the post. The health board have not been in touch with my Department on the matter.
