Vol. 369 No. 8

Written Answers. - Cattle Blood Testing.

181.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the number of cattle blood tested by lay blood testers and the total expenditure involved including travelling expenses etc. for the first nine months of 1986.

Some 170,000 cattle were blood tested by agricultural officers of my Department over the first nine months of this year. As blood testing is only part of the normal duties of the agricultural officers concerned it is not possible to identify the expenditure directly attributable to this activity.
