19.

asked the Minister for Finance the amount of money made available from the EC Regional Fund to local authorities for roads for the years ending 1984, 1985; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Receipts from the European Regional Development Fund are used to increase the overall level of resources available for development through the public capital programme. In the years 1984 and 1985 receipts from the European Regional Development Fund amounted to IR £64 million and IR £76 million respectively of which IR £27 million and IR £30 million were applied to allocations to the local authorities for road development.
