Vol. 369 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

58.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a decision will be made regarding the application of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 for a home improvement grant; if the amount allocated can be increased due to the large difference in estimates; and when a final inspection will be made.

The grant of £1,213 which has already been approved in this case is the maximum allowable based on the overall cost as estimated by the Department using standard costings in accordance with the conditions of the house improvement grant scheme. A final inspection will be carried out when the applicant notifies my Department that the work has been completed.

59.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange early approval for a house improvement grant to a person, (details supplied) in County Waterford.

An inspection, with a view to the approval of a grant, will be carried out within the next few weeks.

60.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £5,000 grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will now arrange for a grant to be paid to a constituent (details supplied) in Dublin 12 on whose behalf Deputy Gay Mitchell has been making representations for some weeks towards emergency work on the roof of a home which was damaged by a recent storm.

While there is no record of the receipt of an application from the person named I have now arranged in the special circumstances to have an inspection carried out to determine eligibility for a grant in this case.
