Vol. 369 No. 8

Written Answers. - Appeal Fees.

122.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will abolish fees for appeal of land tax payment; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Section 27 (1) of the Farm Tax Act, 1985, states that fees shall be paid in respect of appeals whether the appeals are directed to the Farm Tax Commissioner or the Farm Tax Tribunal. Administrative costs arise in dealing with appeals and I do not intend to abolish the fee which, at its present level of £70, is regarded as reasonable.
