126.

asked the Minister for Finance when compensation in respect of arterial drainage under the Boyne drainage scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath who has been awaiting this payment for some time; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 124 and 126 together.

These claims for compensation are under consideration by the Commissioners of Public Works, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945. Inspections of the holdings in question are scheduled to take place in the next few weeks. Negotiations will then be entered into and payment of compensation made when agreement has been reached with the parties concerned.
