asked the Minister for Health the number of admissions to psychiatric hospitals for treatment of alcoholism for the last five years, giving first admissions, all admissions, admissions for males and females, and admissions under 25 years of age.

The number of admissions in these categories to all psychiatric hospitals and units for the treatment of alcohol abuse from 1979 to 1983 was as follows:
