Vol. 370 No. 2

Written Answers. - Security Measures for Border Towns.

166.

asked the Minister for Justice if he proposes to augment the Garda Síochána in Dundalk and north County Louth as a result of recent threats by unionist groupings to bomb Border towns.

The Garda authorities have informed me that additional security measures have already been taken in the Louth-Meath division generally, including Dundalk, and that arrangements have been made for the assignment of extra gardaí to the division next week. The Deputy will appreciate that it would not be in the public interest to disclose details of the security measures that are being taken in any particular place.
