Vol. 370 No. 6

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payment.

82.

asked the Minister for Labour when he will pay redundancy moneys to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

There is no record in my Department of receipt of a claim for redundancy moneys from the person in question. If the Deputy can supply additional information I will have the matter investigated further. However, indications are that the person concerned may, at the time when his employment was terminated, have exceeded the age for full insurability under the Social Welfare Acts and consequently would be excluded from benefit under the Redundancy Payments Acts. Moreover, as the date of termination was in 1979, it is likely also the time limit on the payment of any redundancy lump sum that might have been payable in this case would have expired.
