Only three boards have submitted requests for overdraft approval in respect of 1987 viz: Mid-Western — £6.5 million for the month of January, 1987; SouthEastern — £7.5 million up to end January, 1987; Western — £10.4 million up to 14 January, 1987, and £4 million up to 31 March, 1987. It is obvious that these applications do not apparently take account of the payment of prior year balances which are normally made in January each year.
