Vol. 370 No. 14

Written Answers. - Kilcumeragh (Westmeath) School.

149.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the long delay in carrying out another survey of the school buildings at Kilcumeragh national school, Rosemount, Moate, County Westmeath; if he is aware that the board of management, parents, teachers and pupils are operating in highly unsatisfactory conditions; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Kilcumeragh national school, County Westmeath, has four permanent classrooms, to accommodate a staff of three teachers. The classrooms are under the standard in size normally provided in newly-built classrooms, and the question of adapting them and extending the school is the subject of a feasibility study by my Department's professional officers. I am asking that the study be completed as soon as possible and my Department will then communicate with the school authorities.
