A special area of residence analysis of the live register is carried out quarterly on the second last Friday of February, May, August and November. On the basis of these analyses the average number of persons residing in Waterford city who were on the live register in 1986 was 3,456. The corresponding figure for the remainder of County Waterford was 3,230.
