Vol. 371 No. 8

Written Answers. - Offaly School Tenders.

215.

asked the Minister for Education if a decision has been made in relation to the tender for electrical work at the school at Boher, County Offaly; and if a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath has been successful.

230.

asked the Minister for Education if electrical contracts have been allocated for the schools at Tullamore and Killeigh, County Offaly; and if a person (details supplied) in County Offaly has been successful in the tender he has submitted.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 215 and 230 together.

The tenders received for the electrical sub-contracts for the new national schools at Boher and Killeigh, County Offaly are being examined in my Department. Tenders were received from the person referred to by the Deputy. It is not my Department's practice to comment on the prospects of a particular tenderer prior to a decision being taken on the award of a contract.

Though grant-aiding the secondary school building project in question, my Department are not the client in this case. All queries in relation to the award of contracts in this case should be addressed to the school authority.
