asked the Minister for the Environment when £200 million will be injected into the construction industry as promised by Fianna Fáil prior to receiving their mandate in the general election.
No reference was made to injecting any particular sum of money into the construction industry in the Fianna Fáil pre-election manifesto. The Government are, however, committed to maintaining investment in the industry at the highest sustainable level consistent with overall budgetary constraints. Over £1.1 billion is being provided in this year's public capital programme for construction-related activity.
