Vol. 372 No. 3

Written Answers. - Glanmire (Cork) Hospital.

29.

asked the Minister for Health the plans, if any, he has for the development of Sarsfield Court Hospital, Glanmire, County Cork.

The development of services at St. Stephen's Hospital, Sarsfield Court is a matter in the first instance for the Southern Health Board which has statutory responsibility for the provision of health services in its functional area.

St. Stephen's Hospital provides the base for psychiatric services for patients from the North Cork catchment area. The Southern Health Board plans to transfer to St. Stephen's a number of patients from this area who are at present accommodated in Our Lady's Hospital, Cork. It is expected that this transfer will take place during the current year.
