asked the Minister for the Environment when the first instalment of a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The first instalment of the mortgage subsidy has been paid.

53.

asked the Minister for the Environment when payment of a house improvement grant will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Notification of completion of outstanding work has not been received.

asked the Minister for the Environment (a) the number of house improvement grants approved in County Meath since October 1985; (b) the value of these grants in total; (c) the amount of these grants paid out to date; (d) the number of payments still outstanding; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The information requested in so far as it is available in my Department is as follows: number of grants approved to end of February 1987: 5,088; value of grants approved to end of February 1987: £7,502,945; number of grants paid to end of December 1986: 459; value of grants paid to end of December 1986: £495,000.

Details of the number of applicants from County Meath who are awaiting payment of house improvement grants are not readily available.

asked the Minister for the Environment when new house grants of £2,000 and £2,250 will be paid to persons (details supplied) in County Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The receipt of additional documentation requested from the applicant is awaited.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.
