Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

61.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the application of a person (details supplied) in County Cork for a house improvement grant has been approved; if so, when payment will issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Approval has issued and notification that the works have been completed is awaited.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house surrender grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

68.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £5,000 surrender grant will be paid to persons (details supplied) in County Cavan.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 62 and 68 together.

Applications for the £5,000 surrender grant are handled by the appropriate local authority up to the stage of certification for payment. The appropriate certificates have not been received in the Department in these cases.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a £600 mortgage subsidy which has been approved for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will be paid.

The third instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be paid within the next few weeks.

Questions Nos. 64 and 65 withdrawn.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

An inspection is being arranged with a view to payment of the grant.

67.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the house improvement grant application of a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will be approved; and if so, at what level.

Grants amounting to £7,000 have been approved.

69.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a final inspection has not been carried out for a new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon as the file was forwarded to the inspector; the number of times the inspector has been requested to carry out the inspection; and when the grant will be paid.

An inspection has been carried out and the grant will be paid within the next few weeks.
