A remedial post was not sanctioned by my Department for the schools in question. Available remedial posts for the current school-year were allocated in accordance with a priority of need. The application referred to by the Deputy was not placed sufficiently high in order of priority of educational need to warrant the allocation of a post. The application will be further considered in the light of the availability of posts in the future.
