Vol. 372 No. 7

Written Answers. - Activities of Subversive Organisation.

71.

(Limerick East): asked the Minister for Justice, if in the opinion of the security forces the subversive organisation formerly known as the Official IRA still exists on an organised basis in this State, if it is still known as the Official IRA; and if he will make a statement on its recent activities and on how he perceives its role.

I hold the view that it would not be in the public interest to disclose the professional assessments made by the gardaí in relation to matters of the nature referred to in this question.
