Vol. 372 No. 11

Written Answers. - Jobsearch Programme.

38.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of staff assigned within his Department to the implementation of the Jobsearch programme; the number of staff from outside his Department who have been lent or levied to his Department for the same purpose; and the grades of the different staff involved.

The Jobsearch programme affects many areas of my Department in varying degrees and it is not possible to specify the precise number of staff involved in its implementation. The main impact of the programme is centred on the unemployment payments service both at local offices and at headquarters.

To enable my Department to implement the Jobsearch programme the Government assigned an assistant secretary to oversee the programme in addition to 120 staff to be levied from other Departments.

The grades of the levied staff consist of one principal, five assistant principals, four higher executive officers, fourteen executive officers, thirteen staff officers, thirty clerical officers and fifty-three clerical assistants.
