Vol. 372 No. 13

Written Answers. - Income Tax Payment.

73.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason a person (details supplied) in County Waterford is paying such a high rate of tax on weekly wages; and if the matter will be investigated.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that the inspector of taxes has recently communicated with the taxpayer's agent requesting the details which are required to enable the correct amount of tax-free allowances due to the taxpayer for the current year to be determined.

On receipt of the required information her tax-free allowances will be amended and any overpayment of tax arising in the current year will be refunded by her employer on operation of the amended certificate of tax-free allowances.
