Vol. 372 No. 13

Written Answers. - Louth County Council Capital Allocation.

127.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the delays in the allocation of moneys for housing loans to Louth County Council, that an application has been made over the last six months for £150,000 on a quarterly basis and approximately half of this finance has been provided each time in an area of high unemployment and that this is not helpful to the building industry and is delaying the administration of housing loans for applicants in the County Louth area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There has been no delay in allocating capital for housing loans in County Louth or in dealing with applications for draws from the Local Loans Fund. The county council were notified of their capital allocation on 29 January 1987. Applications for draws have been dealt with expeditiously and, in fact, the total amount drawn to date is slightly in excess of the approved monthly figure.
