Vol. 373 No. 1

Written Answers. - Confey (Kildare) College.

85.

asked the Minister for Education if she will give details as to the capacity type/structure and details of facilities including gymnasium which will be available in the proposed Confey College in Leixlip, County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Terms were recently agreed for the purchase of a site for the new Community College at Confey, Leixlip, County Kildare and the legal formalities are not yet finalised. My Department in conjunction with County Kildare VEC will make the necessary arrangements to ensure that all post primary pupils from Leixlip will be accommodated in September 1987. A proposal to provide temporary accommodation on the new site for the community college is being actively pursued with a view to having that accommodation ready for that date. The school will have 600 permanent pupil places with provision for any necessary extension. The precise schedule of accommodation is not yet available but all the usual community college facilities will be provided.
