Vol. 373 No. 2

Written Answers. - Health Board Employment Contracts.

272.

asked the Minister for Health if he will take steps to remove the continuing uncertainty regarding the validity of contracts currently held, and the increasing uncertainty about the number and working conditions of non-consultant hospital doctors to be employed after 1 July 1987, in the Western Health Board area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Any uncertainty regarding the validity of contracts currently held by employees of the Western Health Board should be taken up with that board.

The number and working conditions of non-consultant hospital doctors are also matters for determination by that board having regard to departmental guidelines and its financial allocation for 1987.
