Vol. 373 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Sligo New Schools.

311.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the building of a new school at Moylough, Tubbercurry, County Sligo; when authorisation will be given for it to go to tender; and when building will commence.

Tender documents for the proposed new national school at Moylough, County Sligo have been prepared by my Department. It will not, however, be possible to advance this project significantly in the immediate future because of my Department's capital commitments in respect of contracts recently authorised, and the large number of other projects for which tenders have been received or for which tenders have been invited. My Department's Primary Building Branch will keep in touch with the school authorities regarding the further processing of their proposals.

312.

asked the Minister for Education if she intends building a new school at Stokane, County Sligo; and the present position regarding this project.

My Department is at present considering a request from the school authorities to grant-aid the provision of a new school to replace Stokane national school, County Sligo, and is currently conducting a review of the enrolment trends at the school with a view to determining its long-term accommodation needs. A decision in the matter will be conveyed to the school authorities at the earliest possible date.
