Vol. 373 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Teacher Allocation.

93.

asked the Minister for Education the advice, if any, she is giving to schools losing teachers and not getting replacements for them in terms of class sizes, subject options and pass and honours options.

The organisation of the school curriculum, subject options, class sizes, etc. within the overall teacher allocation sanctioned by my Department is a matter for the managerial authority of each individual school.

It is open to school authorities who are experiencing particular transitional difficulties arising from a reduction in their teacher numbers to avail themselves of the appeals procedure provided for by my Department.
