Vol. 373 No. 4

Written Answers. - Darndale (Dublin) Housing Estate.

171.

asked the Minister for the Environment when it is expected that work will begin on the pilot scheme for the refurbishment of the Darndale housing estate in Dublin; the total amount of money allocated for the work; and when it is expected that the remainder of the scheme will be undertaken.

Following consultations with my Department, the corporation are now completing a revised cost plan which I understand will be submitted shortly. I would hope that a decision can then be given without delay to enable the corporation to seek tenders for carrying out the work on the pilot scheme. A decision on the remainder of the estate will be made when the pilot scheme has been carried out and the results evaluated.
