Vol. 373 No. 4

Written Answers. - National Archives.

193.

asked the Minister for Labour the progress which has been made on the preparation of documents to be deposited in the National Archives; the portion of the relevant material which has now been examined and could now be placed there; the number of staff engaged on this work; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The progress to date in my Department on the preparation of documents to be deposited in the National Archives has been limited due to deployment of staff on manpower and other priority activities. A small proportion of the relevant files which are held in my Department has been examined. One member of staff is engaged part time on this work as other duties permit.
