Vol. 373 No. 4

Written Answers. - National Archives.

88.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the progress which has been made on the preparation of documents to be deposited in the National Archives; the portion of the relevant material which has now been examined and could now be placed there; the number of staff engaged on this work; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A preliminary examination has taken place of some documents in the custody of my Department and certain of these have been identified for immediate transfer to the National Archives. Discussions have taken place with the Public Record Office and the documents will be transferred as soon as that office is in a position to accept them. Four officers are engaged part time on the work.
