Vol. 373 No. 5

Written Answers. - Special Dublin School.

93.

asked the Minister for Education if she will give details of the funding made available by her Department to a special school (details supplied) in Dublin 1 for 1987; her future plans, if any, for this school; and her response to the view of the board of management of other local schools that the special school could now be of greater benefit to this disadvantaged area if it were amalgamated with the local schools.

To date this year a total of £38,204.52 has been provided to meet the operating costs (exclusive of teachers salaries) of the school in question. With regard to the question of the future of the school, the position is that I am at present reviewing the educational needs of the particular children currently attending the school and expect to be able to give my decision very soon.
