My Department are proceeding as expeditiously as possible with the programme for the provision of the new regional technical colleges and the further development of existing colleges. However, as in the case of all other capital projects, the rate of progress will depend on the availability of resources.
I am well aware of the significance of this programme in the context of third level education and it is my objective that the maximum level of progress be achieved with due regard to the current constraints on public expenditure.
