Vol. 373 No. 8

Written Answers. - Strokestown (Roscommon) Sewerage Scheme.

140.

asked the Minister for the Environment when approval will be granted to Roscommon County Council to commence construction on the Strokestown sewerage scheme, County Roscommon; the date on which the plans were submitted to his Department; and the overall cost of the scheme.

Revised proposals for the Strokestown sewerage scheme were received from Roscommon County Council on 15 September, 1986 and are under consideration in my Department at present. In the light of the competing demands for the limited capital resources available, it is not possible for me to anticipate when a decision may issue to the council. It would not be appropriate for me to comment on the estimated cost of this scheme at this stage as to do so could prejudice any future tendering process.
