Vol. 373 No. 8

Written Answers. - Protection of Trees.

205.

asked the Minister for the Environment if Wicklow County Council will be granted additional finance to meet any compensation claims that may arise following the refusal of planning permission to fell trees at Tomnafinnogue Woods, Coolattin, County Wicklow; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Functions in relation to the protection of trees in the interests of amenity are vested in the local planning authorities and any costs incurred (including payment of compensation where this arises) are a matter for these authorities.
