asked the Minister for Education if she will define the role and responsibilities of trustees of community schools; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The Model Deed of Trust for Community Schools provides, inter alia:

In order to facilitate the establishment of the School the Minister by these presents grants and demises unto the Trustees All that lot of ground described in the map thereof.... To Hold the same unto the Trustees for the purposes of the School...."

"The Trustees shall hold the Trust property upon trust for the purposes of the School (to be established with the object of providing a comprehensive system of post-primary education open to all the children of the community, combining instruction in academic and practical subjects and ongoing education for persons living at or near aforesaid and generally for the purpose of contributing towards the spiritual, moral, mental and physical well-being and development of the Community) so long as the said lease shall be in existence..."

The Trustees hereby covenant with the Minister for themselves and their successors in title as Trustees that they will from time to time and at all times hereafter duly, diligently and faithfully do, execute and perform all the Trusts herein referred to and all the terms and conditions mentioned and contained herein ...."
